What is house dancing ?

Before we start explaining what house dancin is, lets get a little background on house music. House music has evolved alot over the last 20 years. It started off in the late 70's and early eighties in Chicago. Basically disco music from the 70's was taken and DJs added a steady drum beat via a drum machine to old disco tracks. Soon after, people started really feelin this new hybrid music and it became really popular at local chicago clubs and became known as loft music and eventually house music.
House dancing as you can already tell is done to house music. If you have never seen house dancin, it looks alot like tap dancin without the tap shoes. In fact most of the movements are taken from tap, with many improvised moves. See a dope ass house dancer work the floor, is a site to see and once you learn some of the basic house dance moves and actually get out there and put the moves to an actual house song, you'll feel it. |
